Obama to Reappoint Bernanke as Fed Chief - WSJ.com 
My friends Ryan, Rob and I had a long argument about this very topic at a ridiculous tropical restaurant in Chinatown this weekend. Rob’s position was that Obama, like most presidents, pretty much had to keep Bernanke. I think he had some flexibility - the amount of criticism was strong enough that he could have gone either way. Personally, I am glad for this, and I’m also pleased he did it sooner rather than later. I do think it’d be fun to see all the reasons why people think it’s a bad idea, though - those are always fun.
