SXSW 2012 - Why Ad Agencies Should Act More Like... →
I really do hope this panel gets done every year. I did it with Ali Mooney, Matt Galligan, Rob Rassmussen and Ben Malbon last year. Except ours was titled in the form of a question. Now it’s a statement. PROGRESS. By 2020, maybe they’ll actually do it.

And I like that there are 42 chapters. It is after all the meaning of life.

Walter Isaacson: Steve Jobs
I suppose this could be considered to contain spoilers, so if you want an un-spoiled reading of the book, it’s probably best to skip this until you’ve finished it.
Some thoughts:
Boy, he sure does cry a lot.
And he has an eating disorder, basically.
It seems to me that in many ways Steve might have been manic depressive or bipolar. The eating weirdly stuff. The moods. The...

Emma and I are starting to get our act together on this mythical move to Brooklyn. But we want to be near friends. So if you could, please fill out this google spreadsheet with your address. If you want to keep it anonymous, you can just put the street name or a corner nearby or something.
Thanks!

Google isn’t upgrading their flagship Nexus One to the new Ice Cream Sandwich flavor of Android. Why? It’s “too old”.
The Nexus One was released on January 5, 2010 — not even two years ago.

That’s what Steve Jobs revealed to Walter Isaacson in an interview for his forthcoming biography.
What was he talking about? The often rumored (and just as often dismissed) Apple television. Not the Apple TV, the current product, a full fledged television.
Six months ago, I laid out why I thought an Apple television was actually coming despite (and perhaps because of) the current...

The other interesting thing here, to me, is that Paulson’s losses this year on his bet on the return of the US economy seem eerily similar to the early days of his bet against US real estate. If I recall, he called that bet too soon as...

The fascinating thing about being unemployed but still trying to be productive is that everything carries this sort of equal weight of fun and productivity and pointlessness yet holding within it some larger point, not yet apparent. You kind of act on faith that it will bear some sort of spiritual, metaphoric or financial fruit at some point in the future. Sadly not much of it holds a chance of...
