Metric slag off 'business school' bands at Glastonbury → nme.com

“Professionalism is the death of rock and roll.”

That’s funny. I remember being stuck in a ticket like for 2 hours with their manager, their booking agent, 3 people from their publicity company and their road manager. On the other hand, we were all stuck in the ticket line while Metric was playing - the whole lot of them were late to the gig - so maybe they’re not too professional after all.

Man they should have done a Surfer Rosa tour 2 years ago. That would have been amazing.

“The biotechnology company Genzyme spent five hundred million dollars developing the drug Myozyme, which is intended for a condition, Pompe disease, that afflicts fewer than ten thousand people worldwide. That’s the quintessential modern drug: a high-tech, targeted remedy that took a very long and costly path to market. Myozyme is priced at three hundred thousand dollars a year” —Malcolm Gladwell reviews Free by Chris Anderson: Books: The New Yorker

Paul's Tribute to Michael Jackson → paulmccartney.com

This is kind of a half-assed “tribute.” I’d love for him to speak his mind.

“It’s so sad and shocking. I feel privileged to have hung out and worked with Michael. He was a massively talented boy man with a gentle soul. His music will be remembered forever and my memories of our time together will be happy ones.

I send my deepest sympathy to his mother and the whole family and to his countless fans all around the world.”

IP Trial Strategy: Buying Tivo's Bull  → law.com

Man, Marshall, Texas is weird. It seems wrong such a small town so heavily influences patent law in this country. And that people buy prize winning steers as part of the process. THE FUTURE.

“At the time that Ayn contacted me about Atlas Shrugged, my only real familiarity with her work was the movie version of her previous novel, The Fountainhead, with Gary Cooper. I remember liking the movie because it was unique in that the characters seemed to be the embodiments of ideas as opposed to real flesh and blood people with interests and lives. Now that I think about it, I think that’s why Ayn was drawn to Charlie’s Angels.” —Farrah’s Brainy Side - Page 1 - The Daily Beast
